More Than a Gym—A Community That Lifts You Up
At 40, I was overweight, struggling with my health, and unsure how to turn things around. The nearest CrossFit gym was 60 miles away, so I started training at home. The results were life-changing—and I knew I had to share this with others. Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning was born from my own journey, and today, it’s a place where people of all backgrounds can rebuild their strength, confidence, and health—one workout at a time.
Experienced Coaches, Real Results
Our coaching team is passionate, experienced, and committed to your success. Led by Rob DiTursi, a Level 3 CrossFit coach and sports massage therapist with nearly 30 years of experience, our team includes firefighters, school teachers, and sports trainers—each bringing a unique skill set and energy to every class. We believe that great coaching goes beyond just fitness—our staff takes the time to mentor, educate, and support every member, helping them train safely, prevent injuries, and build lifelong healthy habits.
Rob DiTursi
At Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning, we believe in the incredible potential of the human body. When we move well, life feels better-more energetic, more adventurous, more full. Our bodies are meant to be strong, resilient, and capable, and I’ve dedicated my life to helping people rediscover just how amazing they can feel. My journey into fitness and bodywork started in the mid-90s after a near-death experience changed everything for me. That moment pushed me toward a deeper understanding of health and healing-not just for myself, but for others. I enrolled at the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in New York City, became a licensed massage therapist in 1997, and never looked back. Over the years, I explored all kinds of movement-weightlifting, yoga, tai chi, chi gong-each one adding a new layer to my understanding of the body. But I kept searching for something that could bring it all together. Then I found CrossFit. From my very first workout, I knew I had found something special. It combined everything I loved-strength, flexibility, agility, endurance-all in a way that was fun, challenging, and deeply rewarding. I knew I had to share it. That’s why I became a coach, opened Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning, and built a community right here in Rutland, Vermont. In addition to my massage therapy certifications, I’m a Certified CrossFit Trainer (Level 3)-a distinction held by only a handful of coaches in New England. My background includes advanced certifications in sports massage, neuromuscular facilitation, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, all of which shape how I approach coaching and care. But titles and certifications aren’t what really matter. What matters is helping people move better, feel better, and live better. That’s why I don’t just coach-I mentor. I’m continually training and developing the coaches at Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning, ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver world-class coaching. We challenge each other, learn from each other, and grow together so that every member of our community receives the best possible guidance and support. Whether you’re an experienced athlete or just getting started, my goal is to guide you toward a stronger, healthier, more vibrant version of yourself. Let’s get to work.
Jenna Elliott
Meet Jenna Elliott-athlete, firefighter, and all-around adrenaline junkie with a passion for fitness and helping others. Her journey started early, competing as a three-sport varsity athlete at just 16, always pushing to be stronger, faster, and better. While her high school sports days are behind her, that drive hasn’t faded-it’s just evolved. Whether she’s in the gym coaching, responding to emergencies as a firefighter, or saving lives on the swift water rescue team, Jenna approaches everything with intensity and heart. Fitness isn’t just something she does-it’s the foundation that helps her stay strong, capable, and ready for whatever comes next. But life isn’t all work. When she’s not training or on duty, Jenna is out chasing adventure. Cliff diving, wakeboarding, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding-if it gets the heart racing, she’s in. She thrives on challenge, whether it’s in the gym or out in the wild. Jenna found CrossFit in July 2018 while preparing for her career as a firefighter, and it immediately filled a void she didn’t even know existed. The combination of strength, endurance, and skill lit a fire in her, and within a year, she earned her Level 1 coaching certification. Since then, she’s leveled up again-earning her Level 2, working toward her Level 3, and expanding her expertise with EMT and Nutrition Coaching certifications. Jenna is more than just a coach-she’s someone who truly understands what it means to push limits and break through barriers. Whether you’re an experienced athlete or just getting started, she’s here to help you build confidence, strength, and resilience. Join her at Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning, and let’s push past limits together.
Tom Frink
By day, Tom teaches kids how to keep a steady beat; by early mornings and evenings, he helps adults move well and stay strong. He started CrossFit in 2021 and quickly came to terms with the fact that, no matter how hard he tried, he would never escape burpees.
With a Level 1 certificate and a passion for functional movement, Tom enjoys helping people build strength, confidence, and-if he’s lucky-a slight appreciation for thrusters (though he’s not holding his breath). His coaching philosophy is simple: fitness should be effective, a little challenging, and occasionally amusing. Expect clear instruction, solid programming, and a third thing he hasn’t thought of yet.
For Tom, CrossFit isn’t just about lifting weights-it’s about showing up, putting in the effort, and maybe even having fun along the way. Just don’t ask him to DJ.
George Goodhue
George Goodhue is proof that it’s never too late to transform your health and embrace a new way of living. After struggling with weight and lifestyle-related health issues for years, he knew something had to change. That turning point led him to CrossFit, where he not only found an effective fitness program but a complete shift in mindset. “All that’s out of my life now,” he said. “It’s a whole philosophy, between the nutrition, getting your sleep … (and) having this community where you can exercise with a bunch of people and cheer everybody on and have fun. And that’s, I think, the magical thing about CrossFit. The magical piece of it is that you’ve just got everybody around you, and you just want to keep it going because it feels so good.”
Since joining Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning, George has embraced the challenge, pushing himself in ways he never imagined. The workouts are tough, but it’s the camaraderie and support that keep him coming back. He’s experienced firsthand how consistency, good nutrition, and a strong community can change everything-not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. CrossFit has become more than just exercise; it’s a lifestyle that fuels his energy and passion for life.
Now, as a bench coach, George is excited to pay it forward, helping others experience the same transformation he did. He knows what it’s like to start from scratch, to doubt yourself, and to push through the tough days. But he also knows the reward is worth it. “I don’t know where I would be without CrossFit right now,” he says. Whether you’re just beginning or looking to take your fitness to the next level, George is here to encourage, support, and remind you that you’re capable of more than you think.
Kelly Higley
Meet Kelly Higley-athletic trainer, movement specialist, and coach in training at Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning. With a deep background in sports medicine and injury prevention, Kelly knows how to keep athletes moving well and feeling strong. As an industrial athletic trainer and ergonomic specialist, she spends her days helping people stay healthy and pain-free, whether they’re on the factory floor, in the gym, or at play.
Kelly’s CrossFit journey started when she realized traditional strength training just wasn’t cutting it anymore-she needed something more dynamic, more challenging, and, frankly, more fun. From the moment she stepped into a CrossFit gym, she knew she had found what she was looking for. The constantly varied workouts, the personal challenges, and the push to be just a little better every day keep her coming back. But what really sealed the deal? The people. The friendships she’s built inside CFRS have made CrossFit more than just a workout-it’s a community that makes even the toughest workouts worth it.
Outside of CrossFit, you’ll find Kelly cheering on Castleton football, playing recreational sports, or just enjoying time with her husband, friends, and pets. She might claim she has no fun facts, but we know better-anyone with a passion for keeping people healthy and a love for good company is already bringing something great to the team.
As a bench coach at Marble Valley Strength and Conditioning, Kelly is excited to take her expertise from the world of athletic training and apply it to coaching. She’s here to learn, grow, and help others move better every day. Catch her in the gym, and don’t be surprised if she’s the one pushing you to take on that extra challenge-because she knows firsthand how rewarding it is to step outside your comfort zone.
Beth Weeks
Beth Weeks is a humanitarian, analyst, and budding CrossFit coach with a passion for fitness and the outdoors. If it gets her heart pumping and takes her outside, she’s all in-whether it’s skiing, hiking, or anything on the water.
Her move to Vermont started as a whim-a month of skiing turned into something more, and she never looked back. A big part of that decision? Finding this incredible CrossFit community, where she’s made lifelong friends and felt truly welcomed. Now, she’s excited to give back by coaching and helping others along their own fitness journeys.
Beth brings enthusiasm, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for movement to her coaching. She knows that fitness isn’t just about getting stronger-it’s about building confidence, embracing challenges, and finding joy in the process. And while she can offer some input for the gym playlist, she’s the first to admit she’s not quite DJ material.
